Good Ol' Days (June 2002)
On May 31st, the Pond Monkeys performed the annual Good Ol' Days Teen Dance in Good Ol' Downtown Ft. Scott. The event has become a sort of marathon performance for the band as they play 3 whole hours with only one small break.
From 8 to 11:00 pm, the boys rocked the stage with several new originals and even more new cover songs. Highlights of the show included a choreographed rendition of "You'll Never Learn, Chicano," a Ramones medley, two new songs from Daniel and a new tune from Derek, and a near-fight with a loud, very big man in the audience.
Several audience members picked up copies of Start The Reactor! and a few even purchased Pond Monkeys posters. Due to a mix-up at the lab (?), t-shirts with the incorrect spelling of the band were in box under the merchandise table...
The band finally let Alex play drums on the final rocker of the night,
Derek's number one hit, "Friends."
Despite the band's pleas for him to remove that horrendous hat,
Austin pounded on his drums sporting Enterprise Rent A Car wear.

After the lights went down and the crowd began to leave, Derek and Austin returned to the stage for a surprisingly solemn performance of "Milkman."
The song was dedicated to the departing seniors who have so graciously supported the band throughout its many experiences. (Most of them were actually sitting in the front row, above)
